Pesanggrahan Water Treatment Plant Accelerates Clean Water Service

PAM Jaya launched the Pesanggrahan Water Treatment Plant (IPA), Tuesday (9/9). This 750 liter per second capacity facility is targeted to supply piped drinking water needs in three districts, namely Pesanggrahan, Kebayoran Lama, and Kembangan.

brings Jakarta closer to achieving the Governor's target

This installation opens up more equitable access to clean water for around 100 thousand new customers.

Jakarta City Council's Commission B Chairman, Nova Harivan Paloh, said Pesanggrahan installation is very strategic to accelerate the achievement of the target of 100 percent piped water services by 2029.

Status Shift of PAM Jaya to Speed Up Water Service Expansion

"This installation can serve up to thousands of household connections, equivalent to 10 districts. Each new installation construction brings Jakarta closer to achieving the Governor's target of 100 percent clean water service," he said, Thursday (9/11).

Besides Jatiluhur, he added, the installation also relies on the Karian Reservoir, the Pesanggrahan River, and the Kalimalang River in Buaran for raw materials. All of these sources must be optimized.

Pesanggrahan installation was constructed from October 2023 to September 2025 with an environmentally friendly concept. This facility implements a zero-waste system through recycling filter wash water and treating sludge using sludge dewatering technology.

The processing is also equipped with online monitoring and full automation to ensure that water quality and quantity are maintained.

In line with its digital transformation, PAM Jaya has launched the Lapor PAM app as a customer service super app. This app eases the public to report outages, monitor their status, and access billing and payment information.

There is also a mobile laboratory PAM LAB which allows for direct water quality testing in the field according to Ministry of Health standards.

This effort not only ensures the availability of clean water in sufficient quantities, but also improves service quality, transparency, and ease of access for the public in the digital era.
